pattydoo’s “Romy” is every girl’s dream: a lightly swinging skirt which sits comfortably on the hips. You can opt for a curved wrap-front or a continuous hem.

The pattern contains:

  • all of the pattern pieces in sizes DE 32-48/ UK 6-22/ US 4-20
  • variations: continious bell-shaped skirt, divided skirt part with curved edge
  • measurements in cm/inch for both variations of the skirt, as well as sewing instructions

Material recommendation: Light cotton fabrics such as poplin, light denim or cord (needle cord)

The amount of fabric for the yoke and the facing (fabric width of at least 140 cm) is 30 cm for all sizes. The amount of fabric for the front and back pieces of the skirt depends on the size and the variation:

Since this skirt sits below the waist, take the ’waist‘ measurement from the place on your hips where you would like the skirt to sit.

Measurements of the finished garment are included within the instructions of the PDF Sewing Pattern.

Sewing Tutorial skirt with zipper

In this video tutorial you can see step-for-step exactly how to sew the zip into the skirt and how to finish the curved skirt edge with bias binding; you’ll find that both of these things quickly become child’s play!

You can ensure your "Romy" has a really nice swing to it by cutting the skirt on the cross.
